Winter Storm Warning

FARMINGVILLE, NY — Get ready for another dig out. Greater Sachem and all of Long Island are about to get a big dumping of snow on Super Bowl Sunday. Locally, Farmingville and Holbrook could see the most snow with up to eight inches. And maybe, just maybe, the lingering effects of the intensifying Sunday storm could mean a delayed opening or snow day for the kids come Monday. Storm Watch

HOLBROOK, NY — To the disappointment of Sachem kids, the timing of the next snowstorm won’t mean a snow day. The National Weather Service issued a Winter Storm Watch from late Saturday night through Sunday afternoon. OnSachem News has snow projections for Centereach, Farmingville, Holbrook, Holtsville, Lake Grove, Lake Ronkonkoma, Nesconset, and Ronkonkoma. Read more from OnSachem News.

RONKONKOMA, NY — The Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) is back on track. All service resumed at 4 a.m. Tuesday. The LIRR was quickly followed by Suffolk County Transit buses and New York City Subway above-ground lines. However, residents won't find school buses on the roads in the greater Sachem area since Sachem Central School District is closed for another snow day. Read more from OnSachem News.

Winter Storm Warning

FARMINGVILLE, NY — Get ready for blizzard-like conditions and a major dumping of snow, if the increased accumulation estimates hold out. The updated forecast added several inches of expected snow accumulation, which means the greater Sachem area can expect over a foot of snow, according to the National Weather Service.
