RONKONKOMA, NY (OnSachem.com / OnTownMedia.com) — Suffolk County Police Fifth Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that killed a quad operator in Ronkonkoma Friday night.

According to police, Lisa Delvecchio was driving a 2017 Chevrolet Cruz westbound on Marconi Avenue, when the vehicle was struck at the intersection of Lakeland Avenue by a northbound Honda 300EX quad, being operated by Brandon Niles, at about 8 p.m.

Niles, 21, of Bohemia, was transported by Lakeland Fire Department to Long Island Community Hospital in Patchogue, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

His brother Tyler Niles, 19, of Bohemia, who had been operating a Honda 400EX quad to the left of his brother at the time of the crash, was able to avoid collision and was not injured, police added.

Delvecchio, 25, of Whitman, MA, and her passenger Destiny Williams, 29, of Lawrence, MA, were not injured, according to police.

Police said all three vehicles were impounded. Detectives ask anyone with information about the crash to contact the Fifth Squad at 631-854-8552.
