Friday evening update:
Suffolk County Police today arrested Gregory Spina for the alleged road rage incident in Manorville on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 28. Spina, 43, of 20 Rose Ave., Glen Cove, was charged with Assault 2nd Degree. He will be held overnight at the Seventh Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on November 30.
MANORVILLE, NY - Suffolk County Police Seventh Squad detectives are investigating a stabbing that occurred during a road rage incident in Manorville on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 28
According to police, a 44-year-old Manorville man was driving a 2017 Hyundai northbound on Wading River Road when a man driving a 2010 grey Volvo, who had been driving erratically and attempting to pass multiple vehicles, attempted to pass his vehicle at the intersection at South Street.
The Manorville man believed his vehicle was struck and pulled into a parking lot on the corner of South Street and Wading River Road to inspect his vehicle. The driver of the Volvo also stopped his vehicle and engaged in a physical altercation with the victim and stabbed him once in the abdomen at 2:37 p.m., according to police.
The victim was transported by Manorville Community Ambulance to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The victim’s wife was also in the vehicle but was not injured.
The suspect fled in his vehicle eastbound on South Street. Police are not releasing the name of the victim.
