‘Farmingville Flicks Drive-In Movie Series’ launching

FARMINGVILLE, NY (OnSachem.com / OnTownMedia.com) — The Farmingville Hills Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the Sachem Public Library, will launch the “Farmingville Flicks Drive-In Series” this Friday, June 26.

With movie theaters still closed, the drive-in will provide family entertainment while encouraging social distancing during the COVID-19 pandemic. The movie series will feature a different movie each weekend over the next four weekends. The Farmingville Hills Chamber of Commerce may announce additional movie weekends on a later date.

Organizers said the proceeds will benefit the Farmingville Forward Fund, which helps Farmingville Hills Chamber of Commerce members reopen during the pandemic.

The drive-in movies will show at the Long Island Community Hospital at Bald Hill Amphitheater, which is located at 1 Ski Run Lane in Farmingville. The cost per car is $15.

The movies and show dates are:

  • Friday, June 26 – Princess Bride (SOLD OUT as of June 26)
  • Friday, July 3 – Independence Day
  • Saturday, July 11 – Rio 2
  • Saturday, July 18 – The Sandlot (SOLD OUT as of June 26). Fill out the "waiting list" form on the registration website.

The amphitheater gates will open at 7:30 p.m. each day and the movie will begin at sundown. Tickets must be purchased in advance online at https://farmingvillechamber.com/Farmingville_Flicks.html. There will not be ticket sales at the gate, organizers said.

Food service will be available and attendants will staff the restrooms. Security will enforce social distancing.

“Farmingville Flicks Drive-In Series” event sponsors are Christina Lentini State Farm Agency, People's United Bank, MJ Electric, and Allstate - Robert Newell, Farmingville.
