Long Island begins for phase 2 reopening on Wednesday

LONG ISLAND, NY (OnSachem.com / OnTownMedia.com) — Long Island will begin phase two of its reopening tomorrow, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo announced moments ago.

The phase two reopening on Wednesday, June 10, comes two weeks after Long Island began phase one. 

"Long Island is going to enter phase two tomorrow," Cuomo said during his daily briefing. "We have a global team of experts that are going over all of the data. But, they have said all signs are positive, so Long Island will open tomorrow."

Here is a breakdown of industries in each phase:

Phase One: Open for Long Island
  • Construction
  • Agriculture, Forestry, Fishing and Hunting
  • Retail - (Limited to curbside or in-store pickup or drop off)
  • Manufacturing
  • Wholesale Trade
Phase Two: Begins June 10 for Long Island
  • Professional Services
  • Retail
  • Administrative Support
  • Real Estate / Rental & Leasing
  • Dining (Outside only)
  • Houses of worship (limited to 25 percent occupancy)
Phase Three: Not Open for Long Island
  • Restaurants / Food Services (Inside)
Phase Four: Not Open for Long Island
  • Arts / Entertainment / Recreation
  • Education
