Big Campaign Night: Suffolk Executive Debate and Meet-the-Candidates Forum, Wednesday, Oct. 23

BOHEMIA, NY AND MEDFORD, NY — Election Day is fast approaching and the candidates for several local races will meet-and-greet voters again Wednesday, Oct. 23, to discuss their platforms, take questions and debate.

The Affiliated Brookhaven Civic Organization, an umbrella group of civic organizations in the Town of Brookhaven, will host a debate for the Suffolk County Executive race.

The debate will be held at Medford Fire Department, 171 Oregon Ave., Medford, beginning at 7 p.m. The public is welcome.

Organizers said the debate will feature incumbent Suffolk County Executive Steven C. Bellone, running on the Democratic and Protect the Taxpayer lines, and challenger Suffolk County Comptroller John M. Kennedy Jr., on the Republican, Conservative and Independence tickets.

Meanwhile, the Islip Civic Coalition will host a meet-the-candidates forum at Sycamore Elementary School, 745 Sycamore Ave., Bohemia, at 6:30 p.m. The public is welcome.

The Islip Civic Coalition includes civics from Bohemia, Oakdale, Ronkonkoma and Sayville. Candidates invited include several representing portions or all of the Sachem area.
