Election Day results

ACROSS SACHEM, NY (OnSachem.com / OnTownMedia.com) — Election Day 2020 results are coming in across Suffolk County, and the tallies to date show a Republican sweep for every race in the Sachem area. Based on these initial results, every Republican up for reelection or a vacant seat is in the lead among Suffolk voters. Meanwhile, an incumbent Democratic New York State Senator is falling short.

The latest results do not include mail-in absentee ballots, which needed to be postmarked no later than Nov. 3 and won't be counted for another week.

Elections included the U.S. President, U.S. House of Representatives, New York State Senate, New York State Assembly, and an open seat on the Suffolk County Legislature.

To date, current vote tallies in Suffolk County show voters overwhelmingly chose Republican President Donald Trump over Democratic challenger Joe Biden, however the winner has not yet been declared nationally.

Suffolk results also show leading vote counts for Republican Lee Zeldin, Representative in Congress, 1st Congressional District; Republican Philip Boyle, State Senator, 4th Senatorial District; and Republican Doug Smith, Member of Assembly, 5th Assembly District.

The results also reveal a shortfall so far for Democrat Monica Martinez who is seeking her second term for State Senator, 3rd Senatorial District. Republican Alexis Weik, the current Town of Islip Receiver of Taxes, is well ahead of Martinez based on the current results.

Replacing retiring Republican U.S. Congressman Pete King, Republican Andrew Garbarino is in the lead as Representative in Congress, 2nd Congressional District.

With the death of Republican Suffolk County Legislator Tom Muratore, Republican Nicholas Caracappa leads the results for County Legislator, 4th Legislative District.

Here are the latest results as reported by the Suffolk County Board of Elections. These results are not final.
