Volunteers Needed for Holiday Lamppost Decorating

FARMINGVILLE, NY — Help bring festive cheer to the community for the upcoming holiday season.

The Farmingville Hills Chamber of Commerce seeks volunteers to decorate lampposts along County Road 16 in Farmingville.

There is no cost to decorate a lamppost. All materials—garland, lights and red bows—are provided. Volunteers need to bring a ladder. Organizers said it takes about 30 minutes to decorate one lamppost. Within a few hours, Farmingville is transformed into a holiday wonderland for all to enjoy.

The decorating will take place Sunday, Dec. 8. (The event was rescheduled from Dec. 1 because of possible inclement weather.) The Chamber will distribute the decorations in Triangle Park between 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Triangle Park is located at 841 Horseblock Road in Farmingville.

Volunteers must sign-up in advance by filling out the form at http://FarmingvilleChamber.com.
