FARMINGVILLE, NY (OnSachem.com / OnTownMedia.com) — Help bring festive cheer to the community for the upcoming holiday season by participating in the second-annual lamppost decorating.

The Farmingville Hills Chamber of Commerce seeks volunteers to decorate lampposts along Horseblock Road / Portion Road (County Route 16) in Farmingville.

There is no cost to decorate a lamppost. All materials — garland, lights and red bows — are provided. Volunteers need to bring a ladder (10 feet is recommended). Organizers said it takes about 30 minutes to decorate one lamppost. Within a few hours, Farmingville will transform into a holiday wonderland for all to enjoy.

The decorating will take place Saturday, Nov. 28, of the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. The Chamber will distribute the decorations at Triangle Park between 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Triangle Park is located at 841 Horseblock Road in Farmingville, next to Poolsmith.

Volunteers must sign-up in advance by filling out the form at https://farmingvillechamber.com/Lampposts.html.
