LAKE RONKONKOMA, NY — Rite Aid announced on Friday it is now administering the COVID-19 vaccine at every store, with or without an advance appointment. Within Sachem, Rite Aid is located near Kohl’s on Hawkins Avenue in Lake Ronkonkoma. Rite Aid also has stores nearby in Medford, Sayville, Selden, Smithtown, and West Patchogue. LAKE RONKONKOMA, NY — Along the shoreline of Lake Ronkonkoma in celebration of Earth Day, Suffolk County officials announced a $100 million water quality investment to eliminate approximately 7,000 outdated cesspools and septic systems identified by scientists as the primary source of excess nutrients that have fouled local bays, contributing to harmful algae blooms, beach closures, and fish kills. FARMINGVILLE, NY — Sachem Central School District reported 65 additional COVID-19 infections over the latest 10-day reporting period between April 7 and 16. Across the district's 10 school buildings, 41% of the new positives came from just one school — Sachem High School East in Farmingville. HOLBROOK, NY — Over three days last week, Sachem Schools reported another 37 COVID-19 infections affecting students, teachers, and staff. Seneca Middle School in Holbrook and Sachem High School East in Farmingville each had nine new positives, which were the most among the district's 15 schools. HOLBROOK, NY — Sachem Schools experienced 56 COVID-19  infections between March 9 and 16. Among the district’s 10 elementary schools, Grundy Avenue Elementary School in Holbrook had the most positives, reporting six cases affecting students. Cuomo Impeachment Investigation

HOLBROOK, NY AND ALBANY, NY — Despite two more women coming forward with allegations of inappropriate behavior this weekend, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Sunday reiterated that he would not resign. However, Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins, D-Yonkers, called for Cuomo to step down. LAKE RONKONKOMA, NY — Sachem Central School District added another 12 COVID-19 positives during the past two days. The most new infections were at Sachem High School East in Farmingville and Sachem High School North in Lake Ronkonkoma, which had three new positives each among students. HOLBROOK, NY — The daily and 7-day average positivity rates for new COVID-19 infections continue to hold steady in Suffolk County. The daily rate is 3.8% and the 7-day positivity rate is 4.0%. However, Long Island once again has the second-highest 7-day average in New York state, and now stands slightly higher than New York City's rate. Long Island held the third-highest rate in recent days.
