HOLBROOK, NY — The daily and 7-day average positivity rates for new COVID-19 infections continue to hold steady in Suffolk County. The daily rate is 3.8% and the 7-day positivity rate is 4.0%. However, Long Island once again has the second-highest 7-day average in New York state, and now stands slightly higher than New York City's rate. Long Island held the third-highest rate in recent days. LAKE RONKONKOMA, NY — A dumpster rental company and its owner pleaded guilty on Wednesday for illegally dumping solid waste, including construction and demolition debris, on Town of Brookhaven property along Lloyd Court in Lake Ronkonkoma. Lloyd Court is located east of Hawkins Avenue, behind Friendly's Restaurant. Rocco Schuster of Sound Beach and his company, R&G Dumpsters, Inc., each pleaded guilty.  Read more from OnSachem News.


LAKE RONKONKOMA, NY — Sachem Central School District reported another 32 positives for COVID-19 among students and staff following the winter break. The greatest number of new infections were reported for Sachem High School North in Lake Ronkonkoma with 13 new cases and Lynwood Avenue Elementary School in Farmingville with 5 new positives.
