Deadly fire early Monday morning

HOLTSVILLE, NY — Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad and Arson Section detectives are investigating a house fire that killed a Holtsville man early Monday morning. Police identified the victim as Connor Frawley, 32. Volunteers from the Farmingville, Holbrook, Holtsville, and Ronkonkoma fire departments all responded. Read more

Suffolk County beaches to avoid after storm

RONKONKOMA, NY — Following the torrential rainfall and runoff on Thursday, 64 beaches now have an advisory against bathing. Closest to the Sachem area, the 64 beaches include Ronkonkoma Beach in Ronkonkoma, Bayport Beach in Bayport, Corey Beach in Blue Point, Sayville Marina Park Beach in Sayville, and West Oaks Recreation Club Beach in West Sayville. LAKE GROVE, NY, AND LAKE RONKONKOMA, NY — A normally heavily traveled roadway in Lake Grove and Lake Ronkonkoma has remained blocked since Tropical Storm Isaias roared through the area on Tuesday, knocking down trees and tearing utility wires from poles.
