To realize her dream, Sparacin needs the support of the Sachem community. Specifically, she needs your online vote by this Thursday night, Feb.6.

Jetset Magazine describes itself as the #1 affluent lifestyle print and online resource with a targeted readership of the wealthiest 1%.

In this viewpoint contribution to OnSachem, Sparacin wrote about her journey from “late bloomer” to aspiring cover model and how the competition she has entered will benefit the families of children battling cancer.

I suppose you could call me somewhat of a late bloomer. I wasn’t the popular girl in school. I was short, quiet, awkward and a complete geek. Textbook nerd.

Fast forward to the present: I’m a model. Published in a magazine, working with a variety of photographers around our beautiful Long Island area, and always up for the next challenge. Back in September, I was fortunate enough to be asked to submit my modeling portfolio to Maxim Magazine in order for their reps to assess my images as their potential Cover Girl. I was accepted into the competition, and thanks to the help of so many, I placed 6th in that competition within my group. It was an honor and I felt very humbled by the entire experience, knowing that so many people loved me enough to show me that kind of immense support.

Now, I find myself in the extraordinary position to once again be a Cover Girl – this time for Jetset Magazine – and I need the help of the Sachem community (and Long Island in general) to go as far as I can! The competition works like this: everyone can vote via Facebook for free once daily. However, you can also choose to purchase votes. By buying votes, you help a wonderful organization, Be Positive. It aids those families who have kids that are facing childhood cancer.
