LAKE GROVE, NY (OnSachem.com / OnTownMedia.com) — A seven-year-old boy has died following the serious injuries he sustained during a motor vehicle crash in Lake Grove, according to Suffolk County Police.
Early Friday evening, police announced that Harrison Frisenda of Manorville has died. The boy was critically injured in a Tuesday afternoon car wreck on Middle Country Road, west of Hawkins Road, police said.
The crash also seriously injured Katelyn Gaynor, 3, of Farmingville. Six other people were also injured, but less seriously than the two children.
According to police, Andreia Gaynor was driving a 2020 Chevrolet Traverse westbound on Middle Country Road, just west of Hawkins Road, when she attempted to make a left turn into a parking lot on the south side of the street at about 2:30 p.m. Police said her vehicle struck a 2018 Nissan Rogue being driven by Sungeethah Subramaniam.
The two children were transported by ambulance to Stony Brook University Hospital in critical condition. Subramaniam, 22, of Selden, was transported to the same hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Andreia Gaynor, 40, of Farmingville, an adult passenger in her vehicle, and three other children, ages 13, 10, and 3, were all transported to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks, police said.
