Free Yard Signs Nudge Drivers to be Careful

Suffolk County Legislator Bill Lindsay III holds a driving safety yard sign.

HOLBROOK, NY — As the popular saying goes, “School’s Open, Drive Carefully.” Now that the new school year has been underway for several days, how do you feel drivers follow that popular safety message?

If motorists in your neighborhood could use a reminder about driving carefully, Suffolk County Legislator Bill Lindsay III has free yard signs available for residents.

Reading “We Love Our Children, Please Slow Down,” the signs have been available for several months. Legislator Lindsay said the yard sign initiative began following concerns residents expressed during community meetings about speeding and unsafe driving in their neighborhoods.

With roads busier again as children head to and from school, residents may want this yard sign for their neighborhood. To get a free sign, email Legislator Lindsay at William.Lindsay@suffolkcountyny.gov or call his district office on Grundy Avenue in Holbrook at 631-854-9611.

Lindsay’s Eighth Legislative District comprises Holbrook and Holtsville within the Sachem area, and Bayport-Blue-Point, Sayville, West Sayville, Oakdale and parts of Ronkonkoma, Bohemia and Medford.
