Jeep falls off Rt. 83 overpass in Farmingville during three-vehicle DWI crash: Police

FARMINGVILLE, NY (OnSachem.com / OnTownMedia.com) — Suffolk Police arrested a Brentwood woman for alleged DWI after a three-vehicle crash sent a Jeep careening off an overpass along County Road 83 in Farmingville, police announced.

The crash occurred at approximately 12:45 a.m. as Priscilla Torres drove a 2018 Nissan sedan northbound on Rt. 83 (Patchogue-Mount Sinai Road) as it overpasses South Bicycle Path near Bald Hill and Brookhaven Town Hall, according to police.

"The Nissan failed to maintain its lane and struck two other northbound vehicles; a 2019 Chevrolet Camaro and a 2010 Jeep Liberty," police said in a statement. "The collision caused the Jeep Liberty to fall off the overpass to South Bicycle Path below where it came to a rest overturned."

The driver of the Jeep, Jill Voigt, 54, of Coram, was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, police said. The driver of the Camaro, Dwayne Picton, 38, of Georgia, was not injured, police added.

Torres, 39, of Brentwood, was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated, according to police. She was transported to St. Charles Hospital in Port Jefferson for treatment of minor injuries. Her arraignment is pending.
