LAKE RONKONKOMA, NY — Get ready to hit the gym again as soon as Monday, Aug. 24. Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone announced Tuesday the county will support the reopening of gyms and fitness centers over the next two weeks. Earlier this week, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo announced gyms and fitness centers can reopen starting Monday, Aug. 24—as long as the county executives approved so for their jurisdictions amid the COVID-19 pandemic.  Read more

(The Center Square) – New York Governor Andrew Cuomo gave a “halftime” speech to reporters Wednesday, saying the country has to be prepared for a second wave of the COVID-19 crisis. Cuomo said the second wave will probably feature the same strain of the coronavirus, but it will be intermingled with the flu, which becomes more prevalent in the fall. Read more

LONG ISLAND, NY — Governor Andrew Cuomo today reminded New Yorkers to be prepared for heavy rains and strong winds as Tropical Storm Isaias begins to move up the east coast. The storm is currently forecast to reach the Northeast during the overnight hours and deliver tropical storm conditions throughout the day on Tuesday, according to the Governor's office. Read more
