Two Robberies in One Day at Local Gas Stations

LAKE GROVE, NY, AND HOLTSVILLE, NY ( / — The second local gas station in a single day has been hit by a robber displaying a knife, according to Suffolk County Police. It is not yet known if the two robberies are connected.

The latest robbery occurred in Lake Grove last night, Sunday, Jan. 12, police said.

Police told OnSachem an unknown man entered Conoco at 3089 Middle Country Road (NY 25), displayed a knife, and demanded cash from an employee at approximately 8:45 p.m. The employee complied and the robber fled on foot, police said. There were no injuries, police added.

The evening robbery followed a similar gas station robbery earlier in the day at about 1:25 a.m, according to police.

Police said a man robbed BP at 150 Morris Avenue in Holtsville, which is at the intersection of the Long Island Expressway's Express Drive North and just west of Nicolls Road (County Route 97).

A man displayed a knife and demanded cash from an employee, pried open the register, and stole the cash drawer, police said. The man fled and no one was injured, police added. 

Police said there have been no arrests in connection with the Holtsville and Lake Grove robberies and the investigations are ongoing.
