HOLBROOK, NY (OnSachem.com / OnTownMedia.com) — The search is on this weekend for a missing young teenage girl from Holbrook.

Zakiah Merrival, 13, was reported missing on Friday, according to the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services. The agency posted a Missing Child alert on Saturday.

“She was last seen riding a neon green and blue bicycle,” state officials announced.

According to a classmate, Merrival just finished the 8th grade at Seneca Middle School in Holbrook. The school year ended on Friday.

The Division of Criminal Justice Services provided the following information about Merrival:

  • Date of Birth: Aug. 19, 2007
  • Sex: Female
  • Height: 5'04"
  • Weight: 140 lbs.
  • Hair: Brown
  • Eyes: Brown
  • Race: White

The Suffolk County Police Department 5th Precinct in Patchogue is the investigating agency. Anyone with information should call the NYS Missing Persons Clearinghouse at 1-800-346-3543, according to the state.

OnSachem News reached out to the Suffolk County Police Department at 9:29 p.m. Saturday for additional information about the investigation and is awaiting a response.
