Sachem's Board of Ed recognizes exceptional student-scientist

The Sachem Central School District Board of Education recognized Christine Meiselbach, a senior in Michael Vaccariello’s science research class.

FARMINGVILLE, NY AND LAKE RONKONKOMA, NY (OnSachem.com / OnTownMedia.com) — Sachem High School East student Christine Meiselbach received special recognition from Sachem Central School District. The exceptional student-scientist was recently selected to publish her work in a professional scientific journal. 

Meiselbach, a senior in Michael Vaccariello’s science research class, had been selected to publish her research, “Earthworms Eisenia Fetida Recover from Roundup Exposure,” in Applied Soil Ecology.

The Board of Education took special note of this accomplishment and invited Meiselbach for recognition during the Nov. 4 board meeting at Samoset Middle School in Lake Ronkonkoma.

The meeting included several minutes during which Meiselbach's achievement was praised and she was presented with a Board of Education certificate.
