The establishments aren’t allowed to offer inside dining presently because of the coronavirus pandemic, but they are open for takeout and delivery.
As of 8 p.m. Monday, the governors of New York State, New Jersey, and Connecticut prohibited in-person dining at bars and restaurants to encourage social distancing and help control spread of the virus. Normally, patrons gather closely together in these establishments for extended periods.
But, don’t think the restaurants and bars are closed. They’re OPEN for business, and they want to serve you through takeout and delivery.
In addition, properly licensed establishments in New York can also sell alcoholic beverages for takeout and delivery because of a temporary change the Governor ordered through the State Liquor Authority.
Local restaurants are stepping up their sanitation standards to keep everyone safe and healthy during this time. Support your favorite local restaurants by continuing to order pickup and delivery. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), transmission by foodservice remains extremely low.
